Charles is originally from Wales where he was once married to a woman named Gweneth and although he has held onto his wedding band they are no longer together. Since he moved to America his Welsh has become a bit stilted as he has little opportunity to speak it.

In addition to his duties as the General Manager at Young Technologies Charles is also a fencing instructor and freelances as a consultant to escape room designers. Although a skilled fencer capable of holding his own against an Olympic medal winner, Charles has never competed at that level himself.
