Jay Young is the son of Samuel Young, Sr. and Mrs. Young and the elder brother of Sam Young. Growing up with a sister who was frequently in and out of hospitals due to health problems spurred him to dedicate his life to medicine and become a doctor. However, the knowledge gained in medical school has only served to exacerbate his already high level of concern for his younger sister. Jay is currently dating a colleague at the clinic where he works, Dr. Ruth Hadar. Like his father, Jay seems to be rubbed the wrong way by Charles Jones though the reason for this dislike is unclear.
